DIY : Enable Task Manager

Task Manager not functioning or disabled, a common problem which is the most PC users face. The main cause for this problem is might be Trojan virus. Eventhough you scan thoroughly and delete the virus, the damage which done by the virus will be permanent until you fix it on you own.

There are few methods to enable your Task Manager, follow which suits you :

Method 1:
  1. click Start>Run, type regedit
  2. navigate to this branch
    • HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies\ System
  3. in the right-pane, delete the value named DisableTaskMgr
  4. close regedit

Method 2: Using Group Policy Editor - for Windows XP Professional
  1. Click Start, Run, type gpedit.msc and click OK.
  2. Navigate to this branch:
    • User Configuration / Administrative Templates / System / Ctrl+Alt+Delete Options / Remove Task Manager
  3. Double-click the Remove Task Manager option.
  4. Set the policy to Not Configured.

Method 3:
  1. click Start>Run, copy and paste the following link and hit OK.
    REG add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v DisableTaskMgr /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f

Method 4:

hi kesh..its jojo again..thanx 4 the solution..actually, i already try enable d task manager by run>gpedit.msc then i disable it.But when i restart my computer, the task manager is lost again.I done d same way to folder option.and d problem is same.But, i will try to use ur solution here..Thanx kesh!! hv a nice day :-)

Well Jojo..den there must be the virus still der..and its running in startup thats why you lost your Task Manager when you restart your PC..:)
