One of the reason why people hate to use Norton Antivirus because of it's high CPU usage but I still prefer using it as long it provide better protection. Maybe kept that in mind Norton releasing Norton Antivirus 2009 Gaming Edition which designed specifically for gaming and estimated to use 80% less memory as compared with other antivirus software.The gamer targeted Gaming Edition of Norton AntiVirus 2009 equips with “Gamers Mode” which will suspend all the update download and anti virus alerts, thus not interrupting user gaming experience and the system is still under protection. It happened quite number of time for me when the game suddenly *lags because the antivirus updating the virus definition discreetly on behind.
Currently there are not much information regarding this edition as it is not yet released or any release date provided as well.
